A natural birch laminate neck topped with a slab of composite richlite mirrors the new-meets-old foundation set by the body, with a fast-playing High-Performance Taper profile. And while the Martin X series Koa Special Concert’s construction diverts far from the old-school Martin course, this guitar’s compact concert-sized body delivers the same clear, balanced tone that you’d expect to find on any traditionally built small-bodied Martin.
